PUNKS FOR TRUMP

In the upcoming presidential race there has been a lot of interesting thought on who will be the next president of the United States of America. There are plenty of legit candidates out there that we could say can take this country to what it should be, with a promising future. But in every campaign there is always someone who will stick out more than others. Donald trump sticks out the most and is by far the most controversial candidate this country has ever seen. Many people around this country (including myself) believe that Donald Trump is only in the running to boost up his image and somehow-someway make a good amount of money doing so. In this world money will buy you whatever your heart desires including the power to take time of peoples lives to capture absurd statements on any media outlet existed.
Not every billionaire out there is someone who seeks attention in the negative aspects of things. Billionaires like Bill Gates & Oprah Winfrey are just some of the few who realize the blessings they have received should not be mistaken for power to bring down others who are less fortune. CEO of the company IAC/InterActiveCorp had said if Donald Trump was to be elected president of the United States he would move out of the country or join the resistance. Diller just like many others said that most of the poll wins that Trump is receiving is coming from his TV show “The Apprentice” The Apprentice is a reality show in which Donald Trump looks to hire someone for his multiply billion dollar company while displaying a negative image of who he truly is. Being a television star has its perks. A lot of what we see on our TV screens gives us hope on what we want to be and what we would like our lives to be. People do not realize that many actors/actress are role models to some. You can be brainwashed from watching too much of something because it becomes it becomes an addiction. When someone who is worth more than you and however much your great grandchildren will ever have, speaks on a serious topic that will be something you will really be focused because the possible things that could come out there mouth could be endless.
We can go as far as blaming pop culture for the rise of Donald Trump. Many of the media surrounding the presidential campaign are making a great amount of money covering it because Donald Trump appeals to those who feel disaffected, preferably the high-class citizens of this world. The main thing that we can understand from pop culture is that it is straight to your face no cuts around it. That is exactly what Donald Trump does. He will give you his honest opinion to your face and not care what it sounds like or how it sounds like. When you are worth $4.2 Billion dollars and have your campaign be self-funded there is no holding back to what others can say to you.
Pop Culture has played a big role on a lot of people of the 21st century. Many find it amusing when teenagers are given television show deals to speak on how it feels to be pregnant at a young age. (It is clear that we rather be entertained than educated on a lot of important subjects). I believe that the way the younger generation was brought up nowadays, a lot of messages will not be figured out in the grand scheme of things due to the fact that the way they were programed was different from the 90’s children. Although it is not the young children who are tuning in to watch political campaigns on the television screen, but the ones who are tuning in and agreeing with political methods that brings humanity down, such as a lot of Donald Trumps methods will have the way they think be installed in the households of the future generation.
Definition of a Punk – Noun: Nonsense, Foolish. (Merriam-Webster Dictionary)

  1. This was a nice read, though some of the language used can be structured in a more presentable fashion. The big ideas in the blog were interesting in that, yes Donald Trump as a media character is nothing more then a money making entity and not a politician, though the unpacking of how he could be making money off of all this seems a little muddy. Yes, he has his own show, and yes the man says and does what ever he wants because he already has so much money, but how is his exposure as a presidential candidate increasing this already immense bank load?

  3. I enjoyed this read but I also agree with some of the points Mike made. I think that Trump has already achieved the success that everyone (including himself) hopes and dreams for. And now, somewhere deep in that big head of his, he wants to do what he thinks is right for the country. I may not agree with everything he says but I respect his decision to do what he is doing.

  4. I thought this blog was very interesting and I think you do bring up some good points. For example, when you said "a lot of media members are making a lot of money in this presidential race because they have a lot to talk about including Donald Trump. I agree with Joel that Trump has a right to run for president because wants to do what is right for this country and just because he has a lot of money, he can still run for president.
